A boxing coach arrested on charges he raped a student.
James Lyons, 41, was arrested Monday at Tyson Sports Gym
on Hoffner Avenue near Conway, where he coaches.
On the door, there was a sign that said the “gym will be
closed until further notice” and it was signed “Jimmy.”
Investigators say the girl told them she was sexually
assaulted last month at Lyons’ home on Cherry Grove Circle.
And she said it happened during what she called “video
training sessions.”
The girl’s mother says Lyons was a father figure to her
17-year-old daughter.
He is being held at the Orange County jail without bond,
and could face more charges. (Source)
